Who I Am
My name is Leah Petroff. In the last five years, I’ve gone from being a single parent of two cats, to being a wife, to now a mom of two small children, renovating two homes along the way. With each of these life changes, I’ve had to design and redesign my home to fit new functionality needs and understand the nuances in design between different family sizes and situations. What I discovered throughout this process is that I loved these experiences of looking at a space and figuring out how to make it look and function better, repurposing furniture and décor that I already owned and filling in with new pieces along the way.
I decided to start my company, BackStaging Design, to use what I’ve learned to help other people create their version of home, or prepare to sell their house so that they can move on to their future. I will work hard to showcase your space’s functionality and potential, using pieces that are already owned, fully staging a space with furniture and décor pieces, or mixing the two. I also understand how expensive it is to sell a home and move, having just been through this myself. My goal is to work with individual budgets and needs to come together to create a beautiful space. I value the trust that it takes to allow someone into your home, and will share your desire to create a sanctuary, or your hope of selling your house to move into the next phase of life.
